From September 22 to 24, "China BDS Applications Forum and the 9th China GNSS & LBS Annual Conference" was held in Donghu High-tech Zone, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. This is one of the highest level and most authoritative conferences in the field of BDS research in China. 11 academicians and nearly 500 experts and scholars were present at the conference. Professor PI Xu Tianhe and Associate Researcher Nie Wenfeng of the “Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing” research team under the “Sun Burst and Its Impact on the Planetary Space Environment” Climbing Project of Shandong University were invited to the conference.
During the conference, 10 young scholars, including Dr. Nie Wenfeng, from Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Tongji University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other research institutes were awarded the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award by GNSS & LBS Association of China. Professor Xu Tianhe, as the doctoral students’ supervisor, was invited to attend the event. Afterwards, Dr. Nie Wenfeng reported his major work during his PhD studies in the “BDS Innovation 2035” sub-forum.
Dr. Nie Wenfeng, an outstanding student of the School of Space Science and Physics as well as the Institute of Space Sciences of Shandong University, received his PhD degree in June 2019. He had outstanding performance during his PhD studies. He published 8 high-level SCI papers, built Shandong University BDS/GNSS Analysis Center Platform and won many awards of the country and university. After graduation, he joined the “Satellite Navigation and Remote Sensing” research team and participated in the National Key Research and Development project, the National Natural Science Foundation project, and the BDS major project. Recently, he successfully passed the Provincial Natural Science Foundation (first batch) -Youth Fund Online Evaluation Screening and won the State Key Laboratory of Geographic Information Engineering fund and the 2020 National Natural Science Foundation-Youth Science Fund. In early 2020, he joined the research team of Professor Yang Yuanxi, deputy chief designer of China's Beidou Navigation Satellite System and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
