Bo Li is primarily interested in the low-frequency waves and oscillations in the Sun's atmosphere. He adopts a synergistic approach by combining theoretical, numerical, and forward modeling techniques to examine how these waves manifest themselves in observations, whether (and how) they play a role in solar atmospheric heating, and how to exploit their measurements to infer the atmospheric parameters.
Bo Li has served as mail-in reviews for such funding agencies like NSF of China and NASA, and has been a regular reviewer for leading journals like ApJ, A&A, SoPh and JGR. He has also acted as guest editors for a number of topical issues in JGR, Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, as well as in Space Science Reviews.
